Exhibition to the 25th Anniversary

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of her work, Blanka Matragi, following the example of other international designers, decided to organize a retrospective exhibition presenting a cross-section of her work to date. However, the task was not an easy one - not only was the coordination of the entire project mostly carried out from the designer's home country of Lebanon, where civil war was currently raging, but many of the presented models were also presented two days before the opening ceremony at the fashion show that preceded the opening. The exhibition, which ran at the Municipal House from 24 September to 15 October 2006 (exactly three weeks), was seen by a record 82,000 visitors during that time, making it one of the most successful cultural events of the year. In addition to luxury models, photographs, sketches and embroidery samples, the exhibition also featured a monumental crystal chandelier designed exclusively by the designer in collaboration with Preciosa.
